Electric Sugar Board

August 22, 2008 8:21 pm

This deck was made a little while ago. I thought it was about time to post some pictures up. Measures 46″ x 9 1/2″. Designed to pair with an electric skateboard set-up, that ‘Nigel’ had on a current deck. Some sweet Paua inlay and tasty clear grip.

Proto No# 1 Drop-Thru SpeedBoard

August 1, 2008 6:35 pm

First Prototype Speedboard is finished. Designed to handle large wheels and plenty of footspace. Stiff while absorbing any bumps, light, stable, agile and FAST!

Construction consists of two cores. First the ply core. Capped in glass to provide a torsionally stiff deck. Second the Vertically Laminated core. Provides great dampening properties and longitudinal strength. Each capped in separate fiberglass caps.
Vacuum laminated and heat cured.

Drop-Thru Speed Board Spec’s:

Length: 41 1/4″
Width: 10 1/4″
Wheel Base: 32 1/2″
Gas pedal concave

I’ve been riding it as much as I can, and honestly it rides amazing. It has a bit more flex than a hellcat. Soft flex until all your weight is on it, then it goes stiff. Gives a great responsive ride through corners and drifts. Accelerating you faster. Absorbs plenty, but still feels solid. Wwaayyy light. It fits large wheels with out a problem. The concave isn’t anything extreme. It provide a great locked in feeling with out any pain. Nacho and myself were testing it on a local hair pin, and it corners real well. Straight line, also great. So far the only improvement will be to the drop through hole. I’m not sure whether it will be able to fit holey’s, but that will be fixed on the next proto.

Next up will be a top mount speedboard. Watch out!

This board was constructed for the ‘SilverFish Board Build-Off’. You can even vote for me here : ‘Silverfish Build Off’
